This is a new west coast conventions, but there was no option for it so I put this in under the Misc. Cons. ;P

Anyways, this seems like a really cute convention. The whole thing is set up around the overall theme of a mystical Romanesque/Greek type island and each year a new City (and theme) is discovered and a new mayor named. Mayors are "voted" in with tokens that have a number of votes on them. Depending on the membership you purchase, you get between 5 and 30 votes. Tokens are placed and hidden all over the convention as well. You can give away your votes to someone you think is worthy of the honor too Azn.

The convention takes place on October 1-3 in The Westin Los Angeles Airport, 5400 West Century Boulevardm, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
Registration is $20 a day or $40 for the weekend, though you get better things and deals on the more expensive memberships here: http://www.antheria.org/CityOf/Anthropolis/registration.php The hotel is also $99 a night plus tax.

A dealers table is $100 which includes membership.

The guest list is promising with Stan Sakai, creator of the Usagi Yojimbo comic, Matthew Ebel, musician and entertainer, and Mark Merlino, Co-founder of the first North American furry convention "Confurence" as well as director for "Califur", 2 the Ranting Gryphon, comedian, Uncle Kage, storyteller and chairman of Anthrocon. The Mayor of the first year is Agent Elrond, the cover artist of 2 Grphon's products as well as the artist for the convention.

Overall I think this con sounds really promising! I kind of want to room with people and try it out or sommat.

Sounds kinda cool. And.... It's actually, for the one-day, within my price range.
Is anyone thinking of going? 'Cuz, I might be able to afford it. The registration anyway....
*wouldn't be able to afford other luxuries*
...
*is poor like that, but really wants to go to his first con*

Travis and I are looking into bus fare just in case noone else wants to go and carpool :> Round trip bus fare for one person is about $130, $222 for 2 people round trip and $296 for 3 people round trip. Obviously the more people who go on the bus, the better the deal is.

Two nights of hotel would be $198 plus tax.

Bus fare for 3 people would be $296

Con fare for 3 people would be $120

Food and amenities I'm guessing would be about $100 if we all wanted cheap eats.

all together thats $714 / 3 = $238 per person.

I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper in gas and such if we all just carpooled. I'm not sure though. It depends on if we can torture and stealconvince someone to go with us ^.^

If I'm free during that time, I'd like to go with.  A rental car would be cheaper than a bus.
