I JUST FOUND OUT BLOTCH IS GOING TO BE A GUEST OF HONOR

If you don't know who Blotch is, shame on you ;P http://www.furaffinity.net/user/blotch http://superwailingbonus.com/farank/?page=1

Anyways. Who all for sure, at this moment, know they are going to FC'11. I know i want to go!

Also, does anyone know how much it would cost to rent one of those van shuttles if a lot of people do end up going? That way we can all carpool and save money (and the planet and stuff lol). I'm pretty sure that if we had the van full (i.e. 8 to 12 people), splitting the cost of rent and gas evenly would be a lot cheaper than everyone taking their own cars or bussing there.

Blotch is usually there regardless, though, I think. X3
(Also, Blotch is actually two people.)

We pretty much always end up going to FC, and drive a durango so there's room to share.
Just remember that people's clothing, fursuits, etc will also have to fit on the van! X3

I could actually go to this FC. :O  I need to figure out how to get there and who to room with though, but yes~!  I can't take my vacation in July like I did last year, so~ Might as well try FC for the first time.

I would love to go to FC with any of you guys ;V I don't have a suit and prolly wont for the next few years (concidering that if I WANTED to make one, I'd likely be investing $500+ in it because I want it with articulated extremities.)

So If you're offering, I'm totally game if there's enough room xD

It's a bit too early to make driving arrangements, but I'm not opposed to it atm. XD

I like making plans early just so we can account for everything x______x (also I can save a lot of money for food and fun in case it's a for sure thing.)

I could also be down for a van share, but I tend to pack very heavily; I'll probably have two fursuits to take by then.
Added benefit: if the van service can be rented for just the trip down and the trip back, it'll save the cost of parking as well, which is NOT cheap by any means at that con.

Parking was free for us! :O
If you leave the parking garage during certain hours it's free, I think.

I remember when I went to fanimecon the first year we just parked at the hotel and walked. Then again, we got a days inn for super duper cheap and it only a five minute walk to the convention center from across the street and down the block a little

The hotel doesn't actually have it's own parking. The Doubletree had its own parking, but the new hotel, the Fairmont, doesn't. There is a parking garage directly across the street where I think *most* of the people for the con parked.

Also, saw Tahoe's car in there! It's so recognizable. X3

Oh, well, that's not so bad I suppose. Was it free parking there too? I'd expect it to be for the hotel and all but I could be wrong.

I expected the same. Ended paying about 60 bucks total for parking, since the con hotel was 23/night, and charged me for just moving bags up to the room(s). Then found a place that was much cheaper, but.. yeah.

Downtown San Jose has some expensive parking. Wasn't prepared for that.

Like I mentioned earlier, if you leave during certain hours I guess you don't have to pay. We got out with no fees whatsoever.

The parking garage isn't just for the hotel, it's also for many of the other businesses around that *also* don't have parking.

I wonder if FC is held in the same center that Fanimecon was? It was between two hotels, and one was the Mariot if I'm not mistaken

I'm going to this! It'll be my first fur con. I've been to six anime cons so far this year though. (advertising for SNAFU Con) If it's half as fun as the cons I've been going to it should be a blast.

About how much does FC cost?  A general figure would be nice. If you are including splitting a room, please add that.  FC is always close to when I'm returning from Denmark, so I am usually strapped for cash.

You can do it pretty cheaply if you cut up a room and have like 2 people per bed + person in a chair + a few on the floor, lol. I think I paid about $80-100 for my share of the room last year with 4 people in it. I don't really remember... the new hotel is pretty pricey.

I think registration is $40, more if you don't pre-reg.

Keep in mind eating out, though there are several really cheap restaurants in walking distance.
